This month we sat down with Realtor® Sarah Showalter to get to know her a little better. Sarah started in this career after a career as an attorney. As an attorney, she was annually recognized as a Rising Star in the Mpls/St. Paul magazine and she is on track to build a similar career in real estate. She says it was a great transition from attorney to real estate agent and feels her experience really helps her serve her clients better. She loves getting out from behind the desk and working more closely with people to help achieve their goals, and enjoys the fast paced nature of her current work. As an attorney, her role was often that of problem solver and she feels she is a natural at it. There is no need for the client to worry or get sidetracked – she helps take care of the issues and keep the focus on the transaction and their goals.
She has always wanted to be in this industry. When she was a little girl she would read the paper and look at the houses and architectural design styles of homes. She purchased her first home when she was 23 in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis and lived there for almost six years – that’s when she learned what pride in ownership meant and the difference between a house and a home.
Her favorite thing about being a Realtor® is working with people. She enjoys working with the variety of stages, needs and life changes. She imagines what it would be like to be in their shoes and to be making this transition – whether it’s a first home, a move up home or an empty-nester selling to downsize. Each stage is different – just like each transaction. Talking to Sarah, she has a calming presence and gives assurance that no situation is too big to handle. She is a hard-worker, who works smart and effectively. She listens to her clients and is very driven and tenacious to accomplish their goal.
Roger Fazendin Realtors® has been a great place for Sarah to establish herself in the local real estate market. She appreciates the level of professionalism and high standards, and she enjoys the family owned emphasis and their commitment to the community as it’s compatible with her own priorities. She loves the area and is an active member of the community.
Sarah has lived in the metro area for the last 25 years and in the western suburbs for the last six years with her husband and three children. In her free time she enjoys time with her family, exercise, reading and family vacations. She can often be found on a soccer field or baseball diamond cheering on her children and volunteering with the school and church.
Sarah states that this career is a great fit and one that I want to do for a long time to come. She is happy to bring her past experience to this field and to help with transitions and transactions. It can seem overwhelming at times, but it doesn’t have to be, with Sarah Showalter she makes it all very manageable.
