We sat down to visit with recent Agent of the Month Sandy Steiner about her well-deserved recognition and residential real estate career.
Sandy has been working in the industry for 15+ years. She has earned the designations of GRI, ABR, and SFR. We asked her about each of these designations, what was required to earn them and why they were valuable to her and her clients.
She explained that all of these designations require more coursework, more training, the gaining of more knowledge and some testing to earn the designations.
GRI is a Graduate REALTOR® Institute – this designation is for the agent that wants to provide a high level of professional service. By taking these courses, you gain more general real estate knowledge by learning more and participating in the required extra courses.
ABR – Accredited Buyers Representative – this is a two day course where you gain more knowledge about how best to work with and support buyer clients.
SFR – Short Sale Foreclosure Resource Certification – this instruction gives you more knowledge in working with people who might be upside down on their mortgage, perhaps not of their own fault, and they need to sell.
Not everyone goes on to gain further knowledge and designations, but Sandy feels it is important to be trained and equipped to help in the best way possible.
We asked what attributed to her recent success of being named Agent of the Month. She stated that steady contact with past clients is important and that reminding them she is a resource to help them. She shared a story of a few clients she has been able to help who did not initially qualify to get a mortgage, but after working with Sandy and a loan officer, they were given step by step ways to clean up their credit and eventually did qualify. Sometimes it takes a year, but it’s fun to help clients stay focused and achieve their goal. Sometimes when people hear rejection they think it will never work and they give up hope. Sandy likes to partner with them to show them it can be done and give them options and help them stay focused.
Sandy likes to see success for her clients. She has a 100% closing ratio once the inspection contingency is lifted. Her favorite part about working in this industry is seeing buyers or sellers achieve their goals. She enjoys putting the pieces of the puzzle together. No two deals are ever the same – just when you think things are figured out there is a new nuisance – this keeps Sandy challenged and interested and she loves finding solutions for both buyers and sellers!
Congratulations Sandy Steiner on being named Agent of the Month!
