17 years ago today tragedy struck America to its core. It was on this day that hijacked airplanes struck the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Shankville, Pennslyvania. Still today, the wounds of that horrific day are ever present. It is in our memory of that day that we are able to immortalize the thousands of innocent lives lost in addition to the heroic servicemen and passengers of Flight 93 who willingly went into harm’s way to save the lives of others.
As reported by CBS.news, a monument in honor of Flight 93 enables us to reconnect in a sense with the 40 lives lost when the flight was hijacked and then seized by its passengers. Those on board successfully diverted the plan away from the hijacker’s intended target, the nation’s capital. This monument stands 93′ tall and will hold 40 windchimes, each one symbolizing a voice that was on board.
Today Fazendin Realtors looks back and remembers the lives that were lost and the lives that were forever changed on this day, 17 years ago. In doing so, we can’t help but express a feeling of sincere gratitude. We are thankful that there are good people in the world who care for one another, complete strangers and family members alike.
