Welcome readers! In this month’s REALTOR® Profile we have the privilege of visiting with an agent couple who are celebrating their 25th Anniversary with Roger Fazendin REALTORS®. This is certainly a distinguished accomplishment. They have reached this achievement through their leadership, partnership and understanding their client’s needs. More than 90 percent of their business has come from satisfied customers; earning them the recognition and reputation as “The Agents You Can Trust.” We caught up with Dick & Sandy Willis between a couple of closings and gained some insight on their career.
Q:90 percent of your business coming from satisfied customers is an impressive attribute. What has been the key to maintaining such a substantial amount of clientele over your tenure?

A: Real estate has allowed us to meet new people and create friendships that would never have been possible otherwise. We view our clients as more than business partners…we treat them as our friends. We continue to be active in a number of social organizations and attend as many events as possible. This gives us an opportunity to stay in contact with many of our “friends”; all the while making new connections with people. We truly believe these relationships have enriched our lives!
Q: What do you see as the biggest change in the market over the last 25 years? How do you stay current with a constantly changing industry?
A:The most significant change has been the advent of computers and the internet. Mastering these tools has allowed us to become more efficient in the way we serve our
clients. Quite frankly, if you don’t continue to learn about new applications and technology you will find yourself unable to compete in the real estate market.
Q: What has been the most influential advice you have received over your tenure?
A: Prospecting is the single most important aspect of real estate. You have to continually be in the market place looking for new clients. All the while maintaining the relationships you have already established.
Q: You two work extremely well together and are an absolute joy to be around. What is the premise to your successful relationship?
A: We are moving toward our 52nd year of our wonderful marriage. We have learned from each other and admire each other’s strengths. We each have specific areas of responsibility that we each excel in: Sandy does all of our prospecting and advertising, while I (Dick) manage all of the paper work involved in listing and selling. This team thrives because of the valued contributions we each make to our clients.
In closing, Dick and Sandy Willis were #1 in listings sold for 2011! After such a successful year, we asked what accomplishments we can look forward to seeing from them in the next 25 years. “Our goal is to stay active in the industry and have fun while doing it.
