Each and every Tuesday we take time to look at different aspects of being a homeowner. The first Tuesday of each month will feature a particular agent that can assist you in your home buying/selling experience. Roger Fazendin maintains a very knowledgeable group of agents, however we thought the best place to start was with October’s Agent of the Month – Sue Hewitson.
Q: Sue, you are celebrating 10 successful years as an agent here at RFR. With the housing market being quite different now than it was 10 years ago how have you adapted your style to consistently meet your client’s needs?
A: “The business is certainly more complex than it was 10 years ago. As a result of the economy in recent years, clients are becoming more selective throughout the process. Decisions are no longer made for the here and now, but instead I encourage every decision to be put under a magnifying glass and examine how that choice will be beneficial for them in the future. Clients have become more reliant on me for constant communication throughout the entire purchasing process.”
Q: Obviously that constant stream of information requires a great deal of attention to your client and you continually rank in the top 1% in customer service. What is the biggest factor in creating that kind of relationship with your customer?
A: “Trust is 90% percent of our relationship. It creates that door of communication that allows us to have that constant flow of information to help me meet their expectations. My clients trust me to battle for their best interest, which I intend to fulfill.”
Q: 10 years is quite the accomplishment. Your career started in advertising, so what interested you about becoming a REALTOR®?
A: “I initially thought it would be a good transition because I could spend more time with my family…now I spend more time as a REALTOR® than I did as an advertiser.” She laughs. “The dynamics between an advertiser and an agent are very similar. I am a liaison between my customer and product. I find that I use my advertising background frequently. I enjoy utilizing that creativity to help market my listings to catch the eye of potential customers.”
Q: Finally, you just finished up your first season as a coach for your daughter’s volleyball team. What is the biggest thing you learned about coaching that you did not know before you volunteered for the position?
A: “How serious 4th grade girls were about winning! Gather that group of girls together and the decibel level would be louder than a Twins game. We had a great season and I am already looking forward to next year!”
We would like to thank Sue for taking time to talk with us today. If you are a looking for an experienced and educated agent to sell your listing or help you purchase your next home look no further than Sue Hewitson. Frankly, timing could not be better as Sue seems to thrive in the cold weather…she has been Fazendin’s agent of the month in December for the last 4 years. Next week we will have an update on a loan program that President Obama is passing down in our Finance 101 segment.
