If you are looking for a Realtor® that provides an exceptional level of excellence, then you should talk to Tracy Smith. We sat down to visit with Tracy and learn more about what exactly this means. Tracy is an excellent listener; she believes it is a gift to listen. And after she listens and discerns a client’s goals, she asks questions to learn a little more and then she goes to work. You can tell by her genuineness that she truly loves providing a service to her clients. She knows that home buying and selling is an emotional journey for most and not as analytical as people would want it to be. That’s why she loves to develop a relationship with her clients, so they are like family. She provides superior customer service that is second to none. She is not afraid to share the name of a cleaning lady or other vendor or to partner with the home buyer or seller and get in there and work side by side. Buying or selling a home is a partnership and Tracy loves to be a partner in the process, providing knowledge, compassion and guidance every step of the way.
Tracy says her gift to home buyers and sellers is time and focus and with that she is generous. Providing a high level of customer service may not be the most profitable for Tracy, but it’s what she believes in. She had two excellent Realtors® that have become dear friends. They modeled for her, what she wants to be for her clients. She has always loved real estate and has learned a lot since starting in residential real estate in 2007. She enjoys continuous process improvement and is strategic in her planning. Tracy started strong in this career being named Rookie of the Month several times. After starting with another real estate company, she is thrilled to have made the switch to Roger Fazendin Realtors in 2013. She loves the 3rd generation family owned aspect and she really values the community service aspect at Fazendin, not to mention the camaraderie and loyalty. The reputation in the community is stellar and she often hears “I’ve always had good transactions with Roger Fazendin Realtors agents” from other colleagues. But most of all she loves homes and the people she serves! It’s like a treasure hunt and it’s exciting to be a part of the journey and discover just the perfect home for a buyer or assist with the many facets of selling a home.
Tracy will tell you that she is passionate about Minnesota. Minnesota is 10,000 lakes and a whole lot more. She loves to share this great community with visitors. While Tracy was born in Wisconsin and grew up in Dubuque, Iowa, going to the lake (Many Point Lake – north of Detroit Lakes) has been a part of her family experience since 1940. While she herself hasn’t been going since 1940 – the tradition is important to her. Tracy says there are two big family events each year at her house – the countdown to Christmas and the countdown to the Lake.
Tracy says there is no such thing as a coincidence – things happen for a reason. She purchased her first home in Dubuque – a duplex (living in one side and renting the other), and then she kept remodeling, selling and buying three more times in Iowa. From there she purchased a patio home in Seal Beach, CA, a home on Catalina Island and then a single family home here in Minnesota. Seven personal transactions all together! She’s had a variety of corporate work experiences from working for a 100 year old/3rd generation printing company to Disney to Rockwell to Development Director of Greater Long Beach Child Guidance Center and before becoming a Realtor, she was Director of Administration and Finance for Santa Catalina Island Company (owned by the Wrigley family of Chicago Cubs fame) and Development Director of Catalina Island Museum overseeing a $40 million capital campaign. Her volunteer work ranges from United Way to Rotary to Red Cross Shelter Manager and volunteering with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office, to name a few. Volunteering in whatever community Tracy lived has been and always will be a priority for her. All of these experiences have helped shape Tracy into the excellent Realtor® she is today. She has been appointed to the MN Association of Realtors® Government Affairs and Professional Standards Committees, having served in this capacity for the past two year. She met her husband Greg through a mutual friend after both had lost their spouses to cancer. They decided to move to Minnesota to be closer to family and to start a family. In 42 shorts days, they made the decision to move, sold their house on Catalina Island and closed, found a house here and closed. Tracy knows how to make things happen – quickly, if necessary. In March of 2008, they adopted their son Toby from Guatemala and he is their pride and joy! Greg is fortunate to be at home with Toby and they are best buddies.
After visiting with Tracy, you just have a sense that she will be your forever friend. She will help you accomplish any and every goal and you may not even know what that is when you first start the home buying or selling process with Tracy, but she will listen, ask questions and read between the lines to make all your dreams come true!
