Residential Real Estate – It’s all personal to me.
When people are ready to list their house or ready to find a new house, most people think it’s a step by step process. I’ll find a REALTOR and they will guide me through the steps. Corey Robertson will be the first agent to agree with this, BUT it is more than this, so much more!
Corey has been an agent with Roger Fazendin REALTORS® for the last 14 years and can tell you that the steps and systems she puts into place for listing and/or finding a new home are critical and important, but it is also an emotional, personal, relational and individual process. No two situations are the same. This is the part that Corey enjoys the most! Each opportunity, each transaction, brings its own set of challenges and joys. It’s more than selling a house – it’s the personal rewards that keep her helping and serving clients over and over again.
She recently shared a story about a client that sent her an e-mail of his son’s first words and a video that made her laugh since it was so cute. Also, a former couple that called to share that they are expecting their first child! Another that wanted to let her know that they were promoted and will need to be selling their home.
Other examples include: things like sharing lunch with a client who has become a girlfriend and they talk about everything-not just her home that is for sale. She described a call from someone who told her she feels like she is waking up in a dream world each day, she is so happy with her new home.
Sometimes the situation is more traumatic- like a time to downsize after raising five children and living in the same home for 30+ years – the hard process of letting go, reorganizing and moving on. With Corey’s guidance, the process went as smoothly as possible. She explained that the look on her sellers face at closing was one of peace and renewed possibilities. After a sudden and unexpected death, a favorite past client of Corey’s, asked her for help selling the deceased’s home. This experience and others like this, create lifelong bonds between people.
Clients really trust and connect with Corey and look to her for advice on a variety of topics from decorating to staging to vendor resources. As Corey says “it really feels good to make a difference in people’s lives.”
She knows the process of selling or buying is not always easy – there is so much more to it than people realize. Relocating clients are a prime example – moving across states to a new area with no knowledge of the communities/schools/churches, etc… She so respects each of the clients she gets to partner alongside and to be a part of their journey by providing them with her excellent service. It’s so fun to make the connections – helping them to leave something and to start something.
In residential real estate there are many joys and sometimes a few bumps along the way. When things work out, and they always do work out, it is always so fulfilling for the client and for Corey. Every person has a story, every person has specific needs, every person has an individual goal and Corey is an agent, who listens and takes it on as her own situation – she puts her heart and soul into every client transaction. As Corey says “sometimes my clients make me laugh, sometimes their stories touch me in a profound way, but every day I am blessed by the relationships I make through my work and there is nothing I’d rather be doing!
