Shelley, why a REALTOR®?
I always wanted to be a REALTOR®. When my children were 8 and 12, a good friend approached me and asked if this was something I would be interested in. I got started and twenty years later, I am still selling and enjoying the ride.
Why be a part of Roger Fazendin REALTORS®?
That is so easy! Why not! I always felt if I could sell residential real estate at Roger Fazendin REALTORS®, it would be the pinnacle of my career because of their success in the marketplace. I have worked at other companies but there is no comparison to working here.
What have you learned throughout your residential real estate career?
One time I decided that a virtual company would be a good fit. I could make more and have freedom and independence. I joined and soon learned that there was not enough time to sell and make brochures. I needed support. I wanted to sell real estate and talk to people, not make marketing brochures and flyers. I had been with Roger Fazendin REATLORS® when I left to try this venture. It didn’t take me long to realize the virtual company was not the right fit and I decided to rejoin Fazendin. I came back with a stronger desire and better understanding of the good skills I had. I know it was right to come back.
What is your favorite part about being a REALTOR®?
I love helping people buy a house. After all the navigating, parameter searching, knowledge based information gathering and negotiating – it’s so fun to see it all come together. There is something very special about at the end of the day asking yourself which one do you want to turn the key on? It is exciting to partner and equip them to make a great choice. It’s not about the dollars of each transaction, it’s about the people. It starts with one client. A lot of my clients have become friends!
What do you enjoy most about listing a house to sell?
I love the infinite possibilities that are before them as they prepare to sell. I love to share the marketing I can provide, to help them stage and transform their home, getting to know my listing clients and how they live, helping them to make their house the best on the block so they can get the best price.
What does the future hold?
Continuing on the same path, continuing to serve and have fun! I like to problem solve. I love being about to focus on my client’s priorities.
