Before the snow flies, spend time outside breathing in the crisp autumn air. According to the fall color finder map from the Department of Natural Resources, the Minneapolis Metro should be at it’s peak fall foliage time soon. Here is a list of a few of our favorite places to get out and experience the beauty that is fall in Minnesota:
Minnesota Landscape Arboretum –
Open Daily, 8:00am to 8:00pm
With the widest variety of trees to be found in one place, the views are breathtaking. Take a scenic drive or walk through the Arboretum’s forest.
Hyland Hills Fall Chairlift Rides –
Open 5:00 to 9:00pm Friday, Oct. 12 & 4:00 to 9:00pm Saturday, Oct. 13
See picturesque views from the top of the Hyland Hills Ski Area. For $6, the chairlift will take guests all the way to the top of the ski slope, where they can play games, listen to live music, and relax by a campfire.
Caponi Art Park, Eagan –
Free admission, donations accepted
With 60 acres of rolling hills, lakes, and woodland a hike through this park in the middle of October is stunning to say the least.
Minnehaha Regional Park –
Free admission, open 6:00am to midnight in developed regions
One of Minneapolis’ oldest and most popular parks features a majestic 53-foot waterfall, limestone bluffs, and river overlooks, attracting more than 850,000 visitors annually.

Fall Colors Train Rides rolls along the picturesque St. Croix River Valley on a 90-minute ride – the perfect way to view nature’s colorful grand finale to the warmer months.
